Using Traffic Estimation Tools for SEO

01/17/2018

Your competitors can be a goldmine of information that can inform every aspect of your marketing and rocket your website's traffic. If you've improved the crawling and indexing of your site using Google Webmasters Tools or other services, you're probably curious about the traffic coming to your site. Web analytics programs like Google Analytics are a valuable source of insight for this. SEO isn't an exact science. Unfortunately, Google hasn't given us a comprehensive list of ranking factors. Considering that Google has around 200 major ranking factors, and as many as 10,000 sub-signals, we can't possibly know every single aspect of their algorithm. Controlling most of the navigation from page to page on your site through text links makes it easier for search engines to crawl and understand your site. Many users also prefer this over other approaches, especially on some devices that might not handle Flash or JavaScript. URLs and links are building blocks of a website, therefore, ensure that they are consistent and are search engine friendly. Pages that have many outbound links are considered to hurt search engine ranking.

Wrap Subheadings in H2 Tags

Integrate keywords, not only into the content itself, but also into the title, the meta description and even the canonical URL. Include the right rich snippets, don't add schema.org markup just to inform Google about all the other stuff you do. Because they represent what a page is about, keywords should be incorporated into body text and Meta information in a way that is natural and subtle. If you're doing a good job, the reader should consume your keyword phrases with ease like any other words in your content. Most SEO consultants have saidgoodbye to spammy, shady optimization techniques because Google actively penalized you for it since 2011. If your already-designed website is not mobile friendly, it may be quite costly to make the site responsive. Responsive is the term for a website's ability to adapt visually and operationally to a variety of dimensions and properly display on various handheld devices.

Interview experts within or outside of your company

Understanding what your customers and users want to learn and know is exactly how you should be developing your SEO strategy. The age of backlinks matter. Links that have existed for a long time weigh more heavily in your website's link graph. The relevance of a website's content is particularly important for search engines; it affects how high a website will appear in the search results for a given search term. Backlink indexing is important for SEO. Once you are done with cleaning up all the toxic backlinks pointing to your site, you need to file a reconsideration request with Google. This has to be polite and detailed, stating that you admit the mistakes you have committed, explaining the steps that you took to correct the same and promising to use nothing, but best practices for link building and SEO. Through its Panda, Penguin, and Hummingbird updates, Google's making it even harder for site owners and bloggers to get quality incoming links.

Using Traffic Estimation Tools

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant from SEO Hull, commented: "While many old-school SEOs believe that link building techniques are now largely ineffective (or at least less effective than they once were), links are still critical to getting high rankings." Just like you should interview others, seize opportunities to be interviewed, no matter how small the audience is. The 5-600 words that take you 15-20 minutes can turn into a few highly authoritative contextual links. After Google's Exact Match Domain update, the importance of having the exact keyword in your domain name is far less important. Try to pick the best available domain name first & consider keyword matching/partial inclusion as a bonus but entirely unnecessary aspect of your final choice. Very much a nice to have not a need to have... Because Google likes sites that link out to good quality content, publishing your own curated content can be a very smart move. Start focusing on your visitors, on the people that want to buy your product or services.

What is the long tail of search?

Spend some time to get to know the people who consistently share your content. Pull together a list of contacts with more than a thousand followers and a history of engagement in your content. Knowing your social media influencers will help you expand your reach online and ultimately increase the rate at which your content gets found online. One of my firm beliefs is that Google is becoming more and more 'human,' and should be treated that way. This means that in all your SEO efforts, you should consider the use for us human visitors first, and then check if that aligns with any SEO recommendations. Over the past few years the way we use search engines have changed. We no longer just type words into search engines, we can speak to our phones and search by asking questions, or we can use smart assistants on devices such as Google Home to answer queries for us. As long as you're playing by the rules, there's no significant danger that you'll earn a penalty or damage your reputation in the process. "Social search" is an evolving term for the way in which search engines factor a user's social network -- also referred to as social graph -- into how results are displayed after a search query.

One or more methods?

The search engines are able to analyze the reading level of the document. One popular formula for doing this is the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level Readability Formula, which considers things like the average word length and the number of words in a sentence to determine the level of education needed to be able to understand the sentence. At one time, directories like DMOZ were a good place to add listings and get backlinks. However, these large web directories aren't really relevant anymore. Technical SEO refers to the technical aspects of on-page SEO like site speed, indexability, and mobile responsiveness. The term "technical" can turn a lot of people away from this aspect of SEO. Don't let it scare you! It is not nearly as intimidating as it sounds. The mobile version of your website is equally important, if not more important than the desktop version. Mobile-first, they say. Fact is, that your website probably has as many mobile visitors as it has desktop visitors, of course depending on the type of site you have Once visitors are on your site, an important goal is to keep them on your site. You don't want your visitors immediately bouncing back to Google once they have read something on your site.
